How to Borrow, Renew and Reserve Items
To be able to borrow from our collection you need to be a member of the library and will need to present your library card or Trust/Student ID.
Not a member? Simply complete our online membership form. Alternatively, you can come to the library in person to join.
We also ask that you read our terms and conditions.
Borrowing

How many books/items can I borrow?
Registered library users may borrow up to 8 items at a time, subject to local service level agreements.
How Long Can I Borrow for?
Our standard loan period for books is six weeks. Books can be renewed up to 6 times (subject to them not being recalled by other borrowers).
How do I Return Books?
During staffed hours books can be returned to the library counter or by using the self-service machine located just inside the library.
If returning books outside of staffed hours, please use the book return bin, located just outside the library door or the self-service machine.
Please note: to access the Education Centre out of staffed hours you will need your Trust ID swipe card and enter the building using the left hand side door.
Renewals

How can I renew my item(s)?
Items can be renewed up to 6 times (subject to recalls from other borrowers).
You may renew your item(s) by any of the following methods:
In person

via the online catalogue
How to renew via the online catalogue:
To renew item(s) yourself online simply go to the online catalogue. Then log in to your account (log in is on the right-hand side of the webpage) by entering your reader code (5 digit library card number) and PIN (4 digit number on the reverse of your library card).
Please note: If your item(s) are already overdue you won't be able to renew them online.
Reservations

How to Reserve books/items
To reserve item(s) yourself online go to the online catalogue. Then log in to your account (log in is on the right hand side of the webpage) by entering your reader code (5 digit library card number) and PIN (4 digit number on the reverse of your library card).
Select the item you wish to reserve; this will bring up the items' details. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click reserve.
You will be asked to confirm the reservation, simply click on OK.
Once the item(s) you have reserved are ready for collection you will receive a reservation notification via email or post. The item(s) will be kept aside for you for 7 working days.
